Dr. Oz Belly Fat

Is my son eating too much?
My son is 8 1/2 weeks old and eats 4-6 ounces every 2-4 hours (depending on how long he's gone). My husband thinks he's eating too much. He was 7lbs, 3 oz at birth (he was 4 weeks early) and now he's 12 lbs (22 in long). At night he seems to eat constantly (he'll eat about 10 ounces in over the course of three hours) but then he sleeps like 3-5 hours. Someone told me that is called "cluster feeding." I am trying to tell my husband that our son is not eating too much but maybe I'm wrong. He doesn't look fat other than a round belly, but I haven't seen a "skinny" baby at this age. I plan to ask the dr at his next appt but what do you all think? Btw, we're using formula. Thanks!
If he's eating what he wants, when he wants it, he's not gaining 'too much' or eating 'too much.' Babies do eat irregularly -- they'll eat a lot at some times of day, and less at others.
His weight gain -- 5 pounds in 2 months is just a hair above the 'average' and is perfectly fine.
