What is it like for families with young children living in Wayne, PA?
We are considering a move there from California - bay area. We are originally from the northeast and looking for a nice community to live in the east closer to family. I hear the schools good. What is the community like? Is downtown Wayne nice? Clean? Safe?
Hi, Wayne is a great place to live for families. It is a very charming town and has the best school districts in the entire Philadelphia metro area (Tredyffrin is rated higher than Radnor, but both are great). There are cute shops for adults and many shops for babies and children including two cute toy stores; Lucky Duck and Oxford Circus. The King of Prussia Mall which is the best mall in the area is only 5-10 minutes away (Neimans, Nordstroms, etc). And access to downtown is easy as well. You can take the train or drive and there are many back roads to take when the highway is backed up. There are also many kid friendly restaurants and plenty of parks and playgrounds including Radnor Trail and Valley Forge. It is very clean and safe and close to Bryn Mawr and Ardmore which have cute shops and restaurants as well. If you have small children there are gymboree classes and Sally's music as well as other classes. I highly recommend this area and my son loves it as well!
